Missed-Call Test

The free Missed-Call Test

Most shop owners have no idea what happens when they can't get to the phone. The Missed-Call Test shows you, in plain numbers, from the caller's side. It's free, it takes us three phone calls, and you get a two-page report you can act on the same day.

Why we start here

A missed call doesn't look like a lost customer. It looks like nothing at all: no voicemail, no note, just a person who called the next shop on Google. You can't fix what you can't see, so before we talk about any service, we measure.

How we run it

  1. Three calls at your busiest times. Usually weekday lunch, late afternoon and Saturday morning, when your hands are full. We call on different days, so one bad hour doesn't decide your grade.
  2. The same script on every call. We ask what a real customer asks: is anything open tomorrow, and what does a regular cut cost? That keeps results fair and comparable.
  3. Notes only, never recordings. Florida requires everyone's consent to record a call, so we don't. We count rings by hand and write down what a new customer hears.
  4. Your public Google profile, checked the same day. Hours, phone, Website button, booking button, photos and review replies, compared with what callers are told.
  5. A two-page report within a day. Then a short call or text, only if you want one.

What the report scores

Six things, each graded A to F on a scale we publish on the report itself:

  • Calls answered live: how many of the three calls reached a person.
  • Rings before answer: how long a caller waits. Three rings or fewer is an A.
  • Voicemail greeting: does it name the shop, give hours, promise a callback and offer a way to book?
  • Missed-call follow-up: after a call the shop missed, did a text or a call come back, and how fast. (We never leave a message.)
  • Google hours match: do Google's hours agree with what callers hear and with your booking page?
  • Owner replies to reviews: how many of your latest 20 Google reviews have a reply from you.

What unanswered calls may cost

The report works out a yearly figure using your own price and cautious inputs: missed calls a week, times the share who would have booked, times your price, times the weeks you're open. It's labeled as an estimate, because it is one. Your own phone's call log gives you the real count in about two minutes.

Three fixes, ranked

Every report ends with three fixes in order of impact. The first one is always something you can do yourself today, for free, like correcting your hours on Google or rewording your voicemail. Many shops stop there, and that's fine.

Questions

Is the Missed-Call Test really free?

Yes. There's no charge, no contract and nothing to sign. You get the report either way, and you decide what, if anything, to do next.

Will you record my staff?

No. Florida requires everyone's consent to record a call, so we take written notes only. Nothing is recorded, posted or shared.

Do you need anything from me?

Nothing. If you'd like the cost estimate worked out with your exact price, text us your most common service and its price. Otherwise we use the price on your public booking page or menu.

How long does it take?

Three calls over two or three days, and the report the day after the last call.

What if my shop already books online?

Then we focus on the parts that still lose customers: your Google profile, your hours, your review replies and after-hours calls. Online booking helps, but many people still call first.
